Tips from our Stylists

  • How to cut your extensions

For the best results, take your extensions to a professional hairstylist. Be sure to clip in your extensions BEFORE getting them trimmed—this ensures the length and placement are just right for your desired look. - Ashly, Stylist + Curl Specialist

  • How to prevent short hair from poking through extensions

Start by clipping in your first (bottom) weft upside down at the nape of your neck—this helps hide those shorter hairs and keeps everything looking smooth. Also, be sure to choose the right number of grams to match the length and thickness you’re going for! - Soleil, Founder

  • How to get more volume and definition

Once your extensions are in, grab a hair pick and gently tease them—especially at the ends or anywhere you want a little extra volume. This not only adds that perfect boost but also helps your extensions blend more naturally with your own hair. - Horlenny, Stylist + Curl Specialist

  • How to achieve the best blend for thin roots

Before clipping in each weft, lightly tease your roots and set them with a bit of hairspray—this gives the wefts a solid grip. If you notice any areas that need a bit more coverage, a quick mist of root touch-up spray will help everything blend beautifully for a flawless finish! - Soleil, Founder

  • How to blend for ombre hair

Start by selecting a Bebonia extension shade that matches the lightest part of your hair—this ensures a natural blend through the lengths. Next, grab a root touch-up spray that matches your root color, and lightly spray the top of your wefts. This little trick helps create a seamless, undetectable blend from root to tip. - Horlenny, Stylist + Curl Specialist

  • How to make your extensions look more natural

When installing your extensions, apply a bit of gel to help define and blend your natural curls with the extensions. This not only tames frizz but also keeps your curls cohesive, so they don’t separate or look mismatched. - Deanna, Stylist + Curl Specialist

  • How to install multiple shades of extensions

To blend multiple shades of extensions seamlessly, stack them just ABOVE one another—not directly on top. Begin by parting your hair and clipping in the first weft a few inches below the part. Then, take the next weft and place it slightly above the first. Continue layering upward to create a smooth, natural-looking blend of color. - Deanna, Stylist + Curl Specialist

  • How to style your extensions

Some days, I’m all about a simple wash-and-go with a curl-defining brush. Other times, I want a more defined look—so I use our wand method! Every curl is different, so it’s all about discovering what works best for your texture. Finding your perfect method is the first step to achieving a seamless, natural blend. - Soleil, Founder

  • How to achieve the best blend for thick hair

Before clipping in any wefts, gather the bottom layer of your hair into a small bun at the nape of your neck. This simple trick helps hide shorter pieces, so they don’t peek through when you pull your hair forward—giving you a cleaner, more seamless look. - Ashly, Stylist + Curl Specialist

Blending 101: FAQs

I'm in between colors; what should I do?

If you are unable to match your hair color and are in-between shades, opt for the lighter color and take your extensions to a professional hair colorist to have her dye your set to your desired color. If you have highlights, match your extensions with the lightest highlight in your hair and have a professional colorist add lowlights to your extensions to help them blend in naturally. What length should I choose for the best blend?

Great question! We offer 16", 18", and 22" lengths—and the best option for you depends on your current hair length and your desired final look. Here's a quick guide to help you decide:

  • 16" – Best for: Shoulder-length hair and those who want to add subtle volume.
  • 18" – Best for: Hair that’s past the shoulders to upper back. Best of both worlds—added volume and noticeable length while still blending easily.
  • 22" – Best for: Hair that’s waist length or for those who want a major transformation.

Tip: Choosing the right length also involves choosing the right thickness. 110-gram set is great for adding some natural volume to your hair. The 220g set by contrast is best if you're looking to add length and have an extra voluminous look.

Stylist Tip: If you have a unique cut, shape or have layers, consult with your stylist for best results.
